  FAQ and Knowledgebase

The domain I want to register is expired. When can I register the domain?

Most registrars hold domains for between 40 and 45 days as a grace period after they expire. This gives the current registrant one final opportunity to renew their domain.

After the 45 days, the domain will be deleted by the registrar and go into a "redemption" period of 30 days. After this period has elapsed, the domain will go into "pending-delete hold" for an additional 5 days.

At the end of this time the domain will be dropped from the registry and become available for registration.
