Domain Transfer Process
Domain transferring is a multi-step but easy process. The steps involved are described below.
- Add the domains that needs to be transferred and complete the checkout. If EPP key is required, it will ask you to enter the same while placing the transfer order.
- The domain will be submitted for transfer with the registry.
- An email containing a link will be sent to 'Administrator Email' for the domain (Make sure you have a valid and current email ID in the administrator contact of the domain name).
- If administrator of the domain clicks on the link and approves the transfer, the domain name is transferred to Us.
- If the domain named is 'locked' at the losing registrar, the registrar lock should be removed before proceeding with the transfer.
- After waiting for 5-7 days, the domain is successfully transfered.
Please follow these simple rules to avoid issues with your transfer.
- You cannot transfer all the extensions. Above form will accept the transfer orders for only those extensions which can be transfered.
- Make sure you have your email ID in the administrator contact of the domain name.
- Regulations prohibit transferring domains that are less than 60 days old. Please wait atleast 60 days before transferring.
- Regulations also prohibit transferring domains that are expired. So, please transfer early to avoid this problem.
- If you have renewed your domain with your existing registrar within last 45 days, that renewal will be canceled and fresh renewal will be added by us
- EPP authentication code will be required for most of the extensions. Contact your current registrar to get an EPP code. Transfer cannot be processed without a correct EPP code supplied by your current registrar. Some registrar call it "Authorisation Code" or "Transfer Secret". Its technical name is EPP code.
- Please make sure the domain is not locked at the current registrars. Many registars place locks without your knowledge.
If the domain transfer fails, your payment will be 100% refunded in form of credits and you can use those credits to order any other service or register/renew a domain name with us.
